Our Church History
The story of the Adventist Church in Framingham dates back to over 100 years ago….The following account is a recollection of writings, essays, studies and data contributed by members such as David Hartman, historians such as Kathryn F. McCarthy, and a compilation of church records.
History of the Town
Refugees from Salem, during the witchcraft trials, began settling the west side of the Sudbury River early in 1693. The hub of the new villages that quickly sprang up was what was then and is now called the “Centre”. Here the first meeting house, first school house, gunnery, state bank, town hall, memorial library, and the Stone Academy were built. (Dr. William Allen Knight, “How our town Grew” The Framingham News, June 16, 1950, Vol. 106, No. 136, p12.)
New churches accompanied the influx of people and industries …. ________________________ Additional links on this topic:
